Richmond Ice Cream Run – Dave & Lynne Pearen – 12 June 2024
There were 11 cars for the first ice cream run to Richmond under beautiful skies and 23 degree weather. The run had been scheduled to go to Russel, but the original tour leader was unavailable. Extremely heavy traffic in Manotick necessitated an alternate route taking us in a round about fashion through Kars and North Gower (home turf of UMNer’s Ron & Barry) then on some back roads to Richmond. The “Food Stop Richmond” friendly owner and daughter, Lida warmly welcomed us and served up generous cones. Some members were anxious to return for some Thai food featured on the menu board. It was wonderful to have new members Joe & Jose Da Ponte (photo) join us and we look forward to seeing them again.
