Rideau Ferry Tour – Barry Rowsome – Thursday, July 18th, 2024

With 11 cars we started from the Hampton Hotel. Once we got out of the city our tour became very relaxing. We had a few twisties including a nice drive on the Kilmarnock Road passing the Kilmarnock apple orchard. Then onto county road 17 over Old Slys Bridge through Smiths Falls to Abbott Street where we reached our destination – The Eastern Ontario Railway Museum. At the museum we had an awesome 1 1/2 hour guided tour.

After thanking our tour guide, we were off to Rideau Ferry for lunch. We got on Beckwith St to Hwy 29 to the twistie Bay Rd to Rideau Ferry Road and onto CC’s On The Rideau for lunch and Ice Cream next door.

After our fill of food and Ice Cream we headed off to Perth for the planned bio-break – that no one needed – not even Mike. From Perth we drove down nice roads from Hands Rd to Tennyson Rd all the way to Flewellyn Rd and then onto 416 Hwy N. to 417 East and back home.
