Reverse Lac Simon/Duhamel—Martin Labelle and Pam Jones—July 5, 2025

Nine cars departed from the convention centre at 10am under sunny skies and a
reasonable low 20s temperature. After braving a three-lane merger to get to the 174
(must add something to the course description) we arrived to take the ferry to Quebec.
Unable to fit all the Miatas and the Saturday cottage crush on a single ferry, we were
forced to split the group. We regrouped once on the Quebec side and managed to get
to our bio-break location where we quickly realized we didn’t have enough parking
spaces to accommodate our group plus the many Quebecers getting their Saturday
Timmies fill.

After that somewhat rocky start (which has compelled a course correction and new bio
break location) the group enjoyed the club favourite twisties of Lac Simon and Duhamel
then visited the Alt Routiere Chute. After our lunch, which was thoroughly enjoyed by
all, we departed Saint-André-Avellin towards Les Chutes du Moulin – but only did a drive
by given the need to confirm group rates. Nonetheless it’s worth noting that the parking
was quite full for around 4pm.

Many lessons were learned and there are adjustments to be made.
